Project Details

Heads Up developed a health and performance dashboard application, providing individuals, healthcare professionals, researchers, corporate wellness programs, athletics, wearable manufacturers, and digital health organizations with customizable and powerful tools. This application allowed users to take control of their health and improve performance through intuitive and user-friendly health dashboards.

With goals of expanding their application to provide additional services for consumer health optimizers and health care professionals, they needed help scaling their platform. They wanted to establish a secure and reliable infrastructure to support existing services as well as create a foundation to support scalable growth. Heads Up engaged our AWS professional team to perform a top-to-bottom assessment of their existing infrastructure and application services.

Problem

Although Heads Up had an impressive existing application, they required an effective increase in its scalability, ensuring a smooth transition, without disrupting ongoing processes. Our team needed to address common problems related to security, operations, and reliability while improving the overall performance and user experience, and laying the groundwork for long-term growth and innovation.

Our team performed the AWS Well-Architected Review for application and infrastructure, providing recommendations for security, operations, cost, reliability, and performance. This solution enabled us to enhance the security posture for Heads Up by hardening their existing infrastructure with services like:

Systems Manager Automation

Athena

AWS Inspector

AWS Elastic Kubernetes

Outcome

We were able to accommodate ad hoc client requests with minimal impact on delivery schedules. This project resulted in a more secure application and a manageable and robust infrastructure.

Intuitive User Interface (UI): A well-designed UI making it easy for users to navigate the app, and access its features without confusion.

Reliability and Stability: A reliable app that minimizes crashes, errors, and unexpected shutdowns, providing users with a stable and consistent experience.
